House panel debating $494 billion infrastructure measure

(Reuters) – A U.S. House of Representatives panel is debating on Wednesday a Democratic plan to spice up infrastructure spending that goals to repair crumbling roads and highways and scale back carbon air pollution.

The $494 billion five-year floor transportation invoice wouldprovide $319 billion to repair 47,000 structurally deficientbridges and make different repairs, $105 billion for mass transit, construct electrical automobile charging stations and make investments almost $30 billion in passenger railroad Amtrak and rail infrastructure.
